Why a list helps
Insurance conversations go badly in a particular way. The household nods along, hears words it half understands, and signs something that fits the product better than it fits the year. People with steady wages can survive that. People whose money comes in lumps often cannot, because the gap between a premium falling due and money arriving is exactly where a cover lapses.
So the questions here are weighted toward the things seasonal households trip on: how lost income is measured when income was never even, when payments fall due against when money arrives, and what is expected of you at claim time. Take the list with you and tick as you go. A tick means I asked, not I was satisfied.
