Questions people ask first

Can you tell me what to do with my money?

No. Fieldnote Financial is educational only. It can explain how a tool arrives at its numbers and how to read the wheel, the dial or the checklist, but it cannot tell you what to save, what to buy or whom to trust. For that, speak to a licensed professional where you live.

Are you an agency, an insurer or part of one?

No. Despite the web address, Fieldnote Financial is not an agency, broker, insurer or adviser, and it is not affiliated with any insurer, bank or financial company. It sells nothing and recommends no product.

Do you keep what I type into the tools?

There is nowhere for it to go. The pages run entirely in your browser, which keeps your entries in its own storage so they are still there when you come back. Clear your browser’s site data, or use a private window, and they are gone. Nothing is sent to any server.

What is worth including in a message?

Which page you were on, what you typed in (made-up figures are fine), what you expected and what you saw instead. Screenshots are not needed. If a number looks wrong, say which one and what you think it should be, and the reasoning is easier to check.

Can I suggest a question for the checklist?

Yes, please. The best suggestions are plain, specific and the kind of thing a household with uneven income would regret not asking. Say which kind of household you have in mind: farm, trades, tourism or freelance.

Why does the message open in my email app?

Because that keeps the whole path honest. The page builds a standard mail link from your words. Your own email program sends it from your own address, so you see exactly what goes out and nothing travels before you press send.
